Jollibee Welcomes UK Trade Minister Anas Sarwar in First Ministerial Visit in Nine Years

 UK Minister for Trade Anas Sarwar visited Jollibee’s BGC Triangle Drive store in Taguig City during his official ministerial visit to the Philippines, highlighting the growing engagement between the United Kingdom and the Philippines.

Sarwar was warmly welcomed by Jollibee Group Chairman and Founder Dr. Tony Tan Caktiong and Jollibee Group Global Chief Business Support Officer William Tan Untiong. British Ambassador to the Philippines Sarah Hulton, OBE, also joined the visit.

During his visit to Jollibee BGC, Minister Sarwar and Ambassador Hulton toured the store, met members of the Jollibee crew, and explored some of the brand’s most popular menu items. The British dignitaries were introduced to Jollibee favorites such as Chickenjoy, Jolly Spaghetti, Champ Burger, Chicken Nuggets, and Peach Mango Pie.

The visit also gave Sarwar an opportunity to interact with Jollibee employees and customers. He took selfies, chatted with crew members and customers, and received a special Jollibee Funko Pop figure wearing a Barong Tagalog.

The visit of UK Trade Minister Anas Sarwar to Jollibee’s BGC Triangle Drive store adds a memorable stop to his Philippines trip while showcasing one of the country’s best-known homegrown brands.

Sarwar’s visit also comes as the United Kingdom and the Philippines continue to strengthen bilateral engagement and economic ties. According to the information provided for the visit, it marks the first ministerial visit by a UK Trade Minister to the Philippines in nine years.

The Jollibee BGC visit highlighted not only the popularity of the Filipino fast-food brand but also the continuing connections between British and Philippine business and government representatives.
