The Jollibee Group is expanding its inclusive employment program for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) through a Memorandum of Agreement with the Taguig City Government.
Under the partnership, 16 company-owned stores in Taguig across Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, and Burger King will participate in the program, with each store expected to engage two senior citizens and one PWD.
The initiative is part of the Jollibee Group’s continuing efforts to create meaningful work opportunities for senior citizens and persons with disabilities. Since the program began in 2019, it has already provided opportunities to more than 1,000 senior citizens and PWDs across participating stores and partner local government units.
Building Inclusive Opportunities with Taguig City
The partnership brings together the Jollibee Group and the Taguig City Government in support of qualified senior citizens and PWDs who have the capacity and desire to work or be re-employed, recognizing the valuable role they play in the development of the city when given opportunities to remain productive members of society.
Through the partnership, the Taguig City Government will support the program through its relevant offices. The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) will receive applications, conduct initial interviews and profiling, prepare recommendation letters for medical examinations, explain program qualifications, and conduct appropriate training for qualified applicants prior to work assignment.
The City Health Office will serve as the official medical institution for physical, medical, and laboratory examinations and will facilitate the issuance of the Mayor’s Occupational Permit for qualified applicants certified fit to work.
The Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) and the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) will help disseminate information about the program, conduct debriefing sessions for applicants who may not qualify or whose employment may be terminated for cause, and support monitoring and evaluation activities.
For its part, the Jollibee Group will conduct interviews, orientation sessions, training, and minimal medical examinations for qualified applicants. It will also facilitate the opening of payroll bank accounts free of charge for senior citizen and PWD employees.
Supporting Dignified and Meaningful Work
Qualified senior citizens and PWDs under the program may be assigned to lobby-based roles such as order presenters, drink drawers, table managers, and guest relations staff.
“This program is meaningful because it gives our senior citizens and persons with disabilities a chance to continue contributing in ways that are seen, valued, and respected,” said Joseph Tanbuntiong, CEO of Jollibee Group Philippines and Head of Jollibee Brand Global. “At the Jollibee Group, we believe that our growth should also create opportunities for people in the communities we serve. Through partnerships like this with Taguig City, we can open more spaces where people can feel productive, connected, and part of something bigger.”
For the Jollibee Group, the partnership also reflects its broader commitment to inclusive employment and community impact under its sustainability agenda.
“Work can give people more than income. It can give confidence, friendship, and a renewed sense of purpose,” said Ruth Angeles, Chief HR Officer of Jollibee Group Philippines and HR Head of Jollibee Brand Global. “That is why this program matters to us. It reminds us that inclusion is not just a policy or a program. It is something we make real when we welcome people into our teams, support them in their roles, and recognize the value they bring every day.”
The Jollibee Group’s partnership with the Taguig City Government further strengthens the company’s commitment to building workplaces where more people can participate, contribute, and thrive.
